Transportation Department Invests in Bus Infrastructure Modernization

Funding is expected to help modernize the current bus infrastructure and allow for needed upgrades within transit systems.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently announced that it will be investing $2 billion across 165 transit projects in 45 states and Washington, D.C., to help modernize America’s bus infrastructure. Funding will go to the purchase of new buses, building and improving new bus facilities, and utilizing newer types of fuel. This investment is also expected to help reduce traffic congestion, help people travel more efficiently and affordably, and create more employment opportunities across the country.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated, “Whether it’s to church, school, or work, more people travel by bus than any other form of public transportation. With these grants, thousands of new buses will hit the road and infrastructure will be upgraded – making public transit more efficient, affordable, and safe for American families.”

The FTA is expected to add an additional $518 million in funding to this initiative through the Low or No Emission program.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Duffy as he works to make public transport safer and more affordable.
  • For U.S. transportation officials as they allot grant money for newer buses and systems.
  • For God’s protection over those who work in and utilize public transportation regularly.
